For the history of development of the Polish movement in Upper Silesia, the aid which inhabitants of Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) extended to Upper Silesians, beginning with the mid-19th century until the Interwar period, was of great import_ance. The former, coming from the lower middle-class (petit bourgeois) and intelligentsia backgrounds, got interested in Silesia in the time of the Spring of Nations. Odnalezione w londyńskich instytucjach naukowych rękopiśmienne dokumenty związane są z niezwykle burzliwymi okresami w dziejach szlacheckiej Rzeczypospolitej. Instrukcja, a w zasadzie punkty z sejmiku województw poznańskiego i kaliskiego z 1701 r. są związane z początkową fazą Wielkiej Wojny Północnej, która zmieniła układ sił w Europie Środkowo-Wschodniej. Analizowany sejmik został zerwany, a mimo to upubliczniono wyniki jego prac właśnie w formie punktów. Znany polskim historykom dokument nieco odbiega od tego, który znajduje się w londyńskich zbiorach, a różnic, na tym etapie badań, nie jesteśmy w stanie wyjaśnić. W 2000 r. w Polsce rozpoczął się proces regionalizacji kolei. Odpowiedzialność za przewozy wojewódzkie przeniesiono na samorządy wojewódzkie. Przedmiotem badania były powiązania międzywojewódzkie pociągami osobowymi Wielkopolski i 7 województw ościennych (razem 33 trasy). Na 15 z nich prowadzone są przewozy pasażerskie. Liczba połączeń jest zróżnicowana. W planach transportowych 19 linii opisywanych jest w obydwu dokumentach (Wielkopolska i sąsiadujący region). 8 jest pominiętych, a 6 znajduje odniesienie w jednym z planów.
